Tom Green Live! 0.8.3 Released
Ill post this version here too to close the gap since
addons.mozilla.org seems to be a bit bussy right now.
Download Tom Green Live! 0.8.3 from tuxfusion.de
New in 0.8.3:
- compatibility with Firefox 3.5 ensured
- extra dialog instead of simple alert with option to open tomgreen.com
- on first install icon will be placed in navigation bar , if this is disabled into your bookmarks bar
- fixed a bug where icon only auto installed after second restart
- new tab with tomgreen.com will now be selected on click on add-on icon
Your feedback is much appreciated. I will try to implement any suggestions made.

Thanks for making this extension! Can’t wait to see it in action the next time the stream goes live.
As far as suggestions, I’ll throw a few out:
- the ability to view when the last on/off air status was checked
- the ability to change the frequency at which the on/off air status is checked (in minutes perhaps)
- a log of the start and end times (and date) of when the stream was live
Hi Kip,
yes i’m working on the frequency setting right now. Still no success but i’m close i hope.
Logging is an interesting idea and should be easy to implement i will see what i can do !

Steffen
Hi there, just thought I’d drop a suggestion on ya. I personally find it annoying how I get a constant stream of messages telling me that Tom is going live. I close one, and another pops up, indefinitely. I’ve since turned off these messages all together. Perhaps consider adding an option so you only get the message once. Perhaps the frequency setting you’re talking of adding would address this problem, I don’t know. All considered though, this has been a very nice app. Thanks.
Hi Chip,
my webhost thought it might be a good idea to go offline 3 days.
So, i do intensive testing with this thing but what you describe sounds like a very annyoing bug.
I don’t know how do reproduce it.
Can you tell me the states tomgreen.com is having during this issue ?
So i know exactly what’s is happening and at what time.
The alert should only pop up once and then no more.
If you have more windows of Firefox open of course maybe you will get more then one pop up i will test this.
But you should never get renoticed if the state of the webiste did not change.
Regards,
StR
I get the problem as soon as Tom goes live…meaning the icon on your app has turned green, and Tom’s website is still on that opening disclaimer screen.
It’s true that I often have multiple browser windows open, and also multiple tabs open in each browser. It’s not uncommon for my firefox to be taking up 300-500 megs of RAM or more.
However, I recently upgraded both my firefox and your app to their latest versions. If I’m able to reproduce this bug, I’ll let you know.
